Our Story
Something is changing in Buncombe County.
More and more citizens are realizing that the direction of our community and our country cannot be left to political insiders or backroom decisions. People are asking questions. They are paying attention. And they are ready to take action.
FixBuncombe was created to give those people a place to start.
Our mission is to empower unaffiliated voters, “walk away” Democrats, and Republicans who believe Buncombe County deserves a return to common sense. Through grassroots engagement, voter education, and honest conversations about the issues shaping our community, we are working to build a more informed and active citizenry.
At the same time, many citizens have become frustrated watching political institutions enforce rules selectively while ignoring them when it suits those already in power. Too often the same voices that claim to champion fairness and transparency fail to live by those principles themselves.
FixBuncombe was born out of the belief that if the political establishment refuses to hold itself accountable, the people will. We are not here to play insider games. We are here to empower citizens with information, encourage civic engagement, and ensure that voters — not gatekeepers — shape the future of Buncombe County.
As this movement began to grow, we realized we needed to be part of the conversation ourselves. That is why we launched our podcast, What’s Up Buncombe? Through the podcast, we sit down with candidates, elected officials, and community voices to talk about the issues that matter most to Buncombe County. Our goal is simple: give voters the opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking to represent them and better understand what is happening in their community.
Education is the first step — but action must follow.
That is why we partnered with Operation26, a grassroots initiative now operating under the umbrella of FixBuncombe. Operation26 is focused entirely on getting out the vote in Buncombe County. While FixBuncombe works to educate and engage voters, Operation26 focuses on mobilizing them — ensuring that conservatives across our community are informed, motivated, and ready to participate in our elections.
Together, these efforts are helping build a stronger grassroots movement in Buncombe County — one committed to fiscal responsibility, excellent education, safe communities, and the enduring principles that built this nation.
Our goal is simple: educate voters, encourage action, and help elect leaders who will stand up for Buncombe County in 2026, 2028, and beyond.
Because the future of Buncombe County should belong to the people who live here.
